"I love them but I have to return them...I've been coveting these shoes for some time now, and was ecstatic to find them here. I've been looking for a *comfortable* shoe that I could wear in dressier situations than I can use my Birk Zurichs. I ordered these and Birk's Annapolis. I have to say that I'm keeping the Annapolis and returning these. I love the feel of these shoes, especially the little heel gel pad. So comfortable! I had some trouble finding the right size: I usually wear an 8.5 - 9 depending on the style, and my feet are on the wide side of normal. I started off with a 40 regular, which was just too roomy. So I then got a 39 regular. The length and width of these were just right (roomy like a Birk, but not too roomy). However, the right shoe was too tight on the top, such that it was really painful. This must be an irregularity with this particular pair of shoes, as I've never had this problem with my feet before. And now to the look: I've been wearing Birks for more than 10 years so I'm used to the wide look. However, these looked too wide for me. Another reviewer mentioned "clown feet", and I'm afraid I have to agree with her. Perhaps if I were taller and thinner, these would look ok, but with my short and not-exactly-svelte self, these just didn't work. I was very disappointed, because the left shoe felt very comfortable. I assume I could have gotten a correctly fitting right shoe if I'd tried. But the Annapolis feel almost as good and look better for me, so I'm sticking with those."

"Cute but too big!I love these shoes...but they didn't fit. I went a size down as suggested, but this style was still too big. Zappos didn't offer 35 in these so I may never know if they're as comfortable as they almost seemed to be."

"Size matters - I love these shoes, but they seem to run pretty big. I ordered them in a 36 which is a size down and when I received them they were still too big. I also ordered the cameron style in a 36, but those were too small. I love the shoes though, I hope they fit once I exchange them."

"Stick to the listed sizing - Some reviewers have written that they had to go a size down from the listed sizing of this shoe. On the basis of these reviews, I ordered a size down. It was too small; I could feel my toes on the front end of the shoe. This is not how Birks are supposed to fit. The proper size as listed is correct. I have owned many Birkenstocks and I currently own a pair of Footprints, (this particular line of Birks) and my size is consistently 39 for 8-8.5 US as listed here. "

"Great shoe - I just recieved my shoes, they are my first pair of Birks and I love them. They are so comfy, it feels like I am wearing slippers! They are big thought so i am exchanging the for a smaller size. I was told to get a size smaller then you wear, because they do run big. You should really give them a try!"

"Great shoe for people with bunions!At 33, I have old lady feet. Bunions, hammertoes, it ain't pretty. Most shoes leave me hobbling in pain, and the few that don't are usually ugly! But this shoe is so cool! I love the look, and it is so comfortable! Yes, it is wide, but it's good to let your feet spread out-healthy for them. I love the support this shoe offers also. It feels like a sneaker. Would I pay $240 for them? Thankfully I never have to find out since I bought them here at the great price of $96. "

"Love Birkenstocks!!! Better than custom orthotics!!!!I love Birks!!! I have 20+ pairs and this is my newest!!! My kids even wear them and my 7 year old would "live in Birkenstocks" I am not sure about the fit since I always wear a 41 narrow!! There are different sizes you should order based on shoe design as I was told by a Birkenstock retailer in Germany. I normally wear a 9.5 in us sizes and a 41N works for me! I can wear these all day and night without a problem--I actually wear my Birkenstock Arizonas to work out for an hour on my Lifefitness Elliptical machine and they are more comfortable than my best New Balance! I had custom orthotics made for my work shoes that cost over $450 and my Birks are better! I do not have one place where they rub etc.--Love these as they are my first pair of Archetict footwear and dig the extra padding and gel heel insert. I have been wearing Birks since first introduced to the in High school in '90 and will never go back! I even convinced my very conservative hubby to buy a pair of "hippie" sandals and he now wears the shoes for work!!! We are a Birkenstock Family--once you wear them you will wear no other!!!!"

"Looks aren't everything - I got 2 pairs of these--the 1st returned because the lining poked on the sides & kept destroying socks. Now on Pair #2, yes, took a bit to wear in--wore them constantly but lining wore out in the back and so was uncomfy (this after only 1/2 year). Now cannot wear as they tear up my heals (the calus I formed while lining was good is gone!)"

"Heel too wide - I am a pretty consistent 7.5 and first ordered these in 38. Way too big, but fit with VERY thick socks. I exchanged for 37, and everthing seemed fine, except the heel was still too wide, so my heel rubbed up and down when walking. Too wide to tape in those heel things (which don't really work for me anyway). Heartbroken, I am returning these otherwise beautiful, funky shoes."
