About Pro-Keds: PRO-Keds began in 1949 as a brand aimed at sports and athletic performance. Based on quality, durability and a solid reputation, PRO-Keds became one of the leading names in athletic footwear. By the late 70's PRO-Keds grew into a full performance line for athletes, making it one of the oldest footwear brands in the world. Many styles attained cult status in the neighborhoods of New York among the streetwise who adopted PRO-Keds as the first real sneaker with style. PRO-Keds became the shoe of choice with b-boys everywhere and earned its place as a true icon of early hip-hop culture. After an absence of nearly 20 years, PRO-Keds is reissuing some classic styles from its archives, bringing to life once again the heritage and history of this athletic brand.

"Pro-Keds are definitely better than Chuck Taylors. Not only are the materials & workmanship superior, Pro-Keds are much more unique. I have yet to see anyone in my area sporting these puppies, whereas, every other Tom, Dick & Harry wears Converse. These shoes are pretty comfy considering how low-tech they are. They can also accomodate wide feet (Chucks are very narrow). Because the canvas upper has no padding, these shoes are roomy. I suggest going down a 1/2 size unless you want extra room in the toe area. I love wearing my Pro-Keds on the weekends, makes me feel like a kid again."

"Great Product!!!Pro Keds are the best shoe ever made I've had many a pair, My on particular FAV was my blue plaid pair which I wore til the soles fell off, I can't find a pair of plaid Royal canvas Lo cut anywhere,I even wrote the company and they said they where discontinued. If Zappos or anyone can find those shoes in a size 6 thru 7 you would be doing a great service to a least one citizen in the world!!!!!! "
