But, like all hikers I've had the synthetic fabric on the inside ankle support wears away VERY quickly. In less than two months I had big holes in both shoes. 5 months later that area had worn down to the interior foam cushioning. Soles held up okay except for the heels: the right heel had exposed plastic at 6 months as well.Not what I expected with $120 shoes. Why not put nubuck in ankle support? I've gone back to leather military boots."

"These shoes were way too elaborate for me! I am returning them, because they took way too long to put on and take off. You have to put the rubber sock around your ankle before you put on the shoe. Then, once the shoe is laced, you have to zip a flap shut over the laces. After this, you strap the rubber sock under the sole of the shoe."
