"Given Up on Asics?I was (formerly) a dedicated ASICS fan. Unfortunately, they have modified and re-engineered their best shoes into generic has-beens. Mizuno to the rescue. I had owned a pair of original Mavericks and found them to be a capable replacement for ASICS 2080 trainer. My biggest beef was the fit of the upper--they seemed too roomy for my 8.5 feet. Mike, my shoes guy at The Athlete's Foot, recommended I try the Maverick 3. One jog around the store was all I needed. The once sloppy fit was now snug and secure-the light, stable ride was now a bit more cushioned in the heel. Mizuno will now be my FIRST choice for shoes. Well Done!"
