"One of the best Fila sneakers ever constructed...This sneaker was designed by a person I very much look up to (Jason Petrie, better known as 'ALPHAPROJECT' to us over at NikeTalk.com) for his wild & innovative athletic footwear designs & ideas.The Fila Strapt is kind of like a cross betweeen a relatively low cut, yet performance focused Fila sneaker and the look of a 'Diesel' brand sneaker (due to its unique, curved toe bumper). But if you don't like those Diesel sneakers don't worry about (neither do I) but this sneaker offers alot of details that overall make it a very cool sneaker that I'm sure many heads (and feet) will fall in love with. Its truly a sneaker that should really be seen in person to be appreciated.The midsole is made of soft and very comfortable EVA that is visible at the heel & midfoot but it is cleverly "hidden" at the forefoot by being overlasted (meaning the leather portion wraps OVER THE MIDSOLE, which is basically done to enhance the fit on the forefoot). Another really cool aspect of this shoe is the way the sole was designed. Underneathe the clear rubber portions there is a carefully integrated midfot shank plate that extends all the way to the heel of the sneaker helping it give it more stability.The "3action" cushioning is pretty firm at first (at least to me it was) but over time it gets a little softer.The overall lock-down fit is awesome for ball playing due to its speed lacing system,overlasted forefoot, & its ever-famous Strap (But I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone who seeks a sneaker with alot of ankle support since its a pretty low-cut sneaker). The Strap also helps with keeping the laces very securely tied since it is placed right over where the laces are, whether this was achieved through mere coincidence or smart & logical thinking, it helps out alot. The Herringbone traction is INCREDIBLE. 'Nuff said. But whats really cool to me is that the curved toe bumper that I mentioned before isn't just for looks, it actually serves as a great performance feature. It kinds of acts as a "broken in sole", and I say that because most ball players often take out a pair of their on court sneakers for a practice-spin or two in order to "break them in" and make them a little more softer for when they're playing long crucial games that would be hell on anybody's feet (Mainly to soften up the shank plate a little & to give a little "bended" feel to the outsole as well) . But this sneaker seems to offer that already out of the box because the toe vamp is really curved at the very forefoot, and it also aids in a very comfortable & organic feel for cutting and slashing (meaning, running around ALOT) on the b-ball court.Bottom line, this is a dope sneaker whether you want to play ball in it, chill in it, or break necks at any Mall with (And trust me, THEY BREAK ALOT OF NECKS since they are not seen in many stores, or at all really). Its definetely one of those sneakers that stands out in today's crowds where everything retro is being bought by the masses just cause its "cool" or "in" but if you're a person that seeks something a little different (but at the same time, a bit familiar) from what is the everyday norm right now, Get yourself a pair of these Strapts. Don't sleep! You defintely won't regret it.And from what I have learned, this sneaker has been made in limited quantities,you won't be seeing em in much big retail stores like Footlocker or whatnot but a few mom & pop stores ,which I have to say, I LOVE going to :).Thats about it my good people.
